If you are working in a mountain
organisation, or are a specialist in agriculture, rural development or regional
and local development, a local, regional, national professional or a
decision-maker in particular in the field of mountain food products, or you are
a farmer, an entrepreneur in these areas, a researcher or student or if you are
simply interested in improving your knowledge and understanding of the major
issues concerning mountain food products in Europe, then this website is
dedicated to you.
Since the 1st February 2007 and for 3 years, Euromontana
coordinates a new research project under 6th RTD (Research and Technological
Development) programme of DG Research. This project named EuroMARC
, for ‘ European Mountain
Agrofood products, Retailing and
Consumers', focusses in particular on assessing
perceptions and expectations from consumers and the various types of retailers.
This research programme is important because it aims at affecting community
policies (Priority 8 - scientific support to policies).
You will also find here all the data, analysis, results
and conclusions of the European project on mountain food products (project 2002 – 2004). The browsing facility, available in 8 languages for this section, will lead you to specific information in French or sometimes only in English.
This website is devoted to collecting information on current issues, literature and projects and to creating a list of specialised professional contacts on the theme of mountain products. This will shortly be put on line. In this launch stage, all comments and/or contributions would be welcome.
